PREFERENCES
The
carp at the lakes have fairly soft mouths for gravel pit
fish!
Rods of 3 lbs
TC and under are preferred.
A correctly set clutch
is also preferred to back winding.
PHOTOGRAPHING FISH !
A new policy at the lakes now, is that all photographs of fish are to be taken in the water.

This new policy has been introduced, just like all of the other restrictions, to protect the carp from unnecessary risk of injury, and in this case, during the photography.
There are shallow areas in every swim, and you are welcome to bring chest or thigh waders if you prefer.
HOOK
GUIDE
Use
of certain types of hooks are not allowed at THE
GRAVIERS, on both lakes.
This
rule has not been introduced to try and stop you
from catching.
During
my own investigations into the risk of damage caused to fishes mouths
by hooks, the conclusion was made that certain hook patterns greatly
increased the risk of tearing, double hooking, and failure to be
ejected in the case of a lost fish.
Below
are some examples of known hooks patterns that are not to
be used at the lakes;
NOTE;
Any hooks that have been modified,(bent) are not allowed, Barbless hooks are also not allowed.
The
key characteristics of the patterns are, obvious bent
shank, with inward pointing eye. See diagrams below:
These types of patterns are NOT ALLOWED.

If
you are unsure about your chosen pattern, please do not hesitate
to ask. 0033 380 233539
